Introduction
The internet has given everyone a platform, and with it, the ability to reinterpret sacred texts through personal agendas. Recently, I came across claims that Jesus has returned as a woman. Elijah has returned as transgender. It was also claimed that the rapture is for the wicked. These statements were tied to verses from Malachi 3 and Matthew 19. However, the interpretations stray far from their historical and theological meaning.
From my perspective in The Resilient Philosopher: The Prism of Reality, twisting scripture to fit identity or ideology is dangerous. It represents a perilous form of spiritual leadership. It can mislead rather than inspire.
Biblical Integrity and Context
Malachi 3:8-12 is about Israel withholding tithes, not a prophecy against selling Christian books or accepting offerings. Matthew 19:12 speaks about celibacy for the sake of the kingdom, not gender identity or sexual orientation.
The Bible warns against greed and false prophets. Pulling verses out of context to justify a personal narrative is not biblical teaching. It’s scriptural manipulation.
My Spiritualist and Philosophical View
I am a spiritualist and a philosopher. Science proves; religion survives on faith. One is built on evidence, the other on belief.
I am not a Christian, nor do I believe in Christianity. To me, Jesus of Nazareth is a spiritual philosopher. He is a teacher of servant leadership and a challenger of oppression. He is also a man with profound lessons on compassion and resilience. I respect his teachings while rejecting the religious structures built in his name.
This distinction matters, because when sacred figures are reshaped into tools for personal agendas, their message becomes diluted.
False Prophets and the Danger of Personal Prophecy
In leadership and spirituality, the most dangerous guide is the one who cannot distinguish between conviction and delusion. As I write in The Resilient Philosopher: The Prism of Reality, truth must be tested, not assumed.
When people declare absolute truth based solely on their own visions, they are making a bold claim. This happens without grounding in history, theology, or reason. They’re asking others to trade discernment for blind loyalty. This is not leadership. It’s manipulation.
Selling the Gospel — Sin or Support?
Yes, Jesus said, “Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). But Paul also taught that “those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel” (1 Corinthians 9:14).
The difference is motive. If ministry is used as a tool for wealth and power, it becomes exploitation. But supporting faithful laborers in their work is biblical. Condemning all financial exchange in ministry is as unbalanced as commercializing faith for personal gain.
The Rapture and Leadership by Fear
The claim that the rapture is “for the wicked” reverses most Christian eschatology. While interpretations vary, replacing hope with fear is a hallmark of poor leadership.
Leaders who inspire through fear may control people, but they never help them grow. Leaders who inspire through truth create followers who become leaders themselves.
Final Reflection
The gospel is seen by some as divine revelation. Others view it as historical philosophy. It should never be used as a personal brand or political platform. For me, it’s clear: protect the message, respect the teacher, reject the distortion.
As The Resilient Philosopher, I believe leadership demands courage. It requires separating truth from theatrics, revelation from projection, and service from self-promotion. Anything less is not spiritual leadership — it’s marketing in sacred clothing.
